Most ryokan have only public baths, but there are many Tokyo ryokan with private onsen baths as well. Tokyo Ryokan has 3 ( three ) Japanese-style rooms, all laid out with tatami floor mats. And the cupboard full of instant noodles and fridge full of snacks and drinks surprise me, they also prepared the snacks for the kids. I find it useful to mention they helped us with delivering the luggages to our next destination, they filled out the form and called the host to confirm they would receive them, we literally had just to sign at the end. The futons and sofa bed are good. Attractively located in the centre of Tokyo, cyashitsu Family Inn Saiko offers cozy Japanese-style accommodations about a 10-minute drive from Ikebukuro Station. No washing machine in the house.
Wij hebben de leukste Ryokan’s van Tokyo op een rij gezet.Tokyo.nl staat vol met handige reisinformatie over Japan. The breakfast was great and the staff very friendly! About 550 yards from JR Koiwa Train Station, Ryokan Fuji offers traditional Japanese-style accommodations with tatami floors, futon bedding and shoji paper screens. The food was delicious! We speak English and 43 other languages.

I prefer the “village feel” of Asakusa to the bright lights in other parts of Tokyo. They multitasked and manage all of the guests with such grace.

Waarschijnlijk de meest traditionele slaapplek in Tokyo en Japan zijn de Ryokan’s. Staying here was beyond exceptional. Hana and Yoko will take wonderful care of you. Lovely to have a room with a private onsen.
